Meet The Host

Al Lindner

Al Lindner

Al Lindner is one of the most influential figures in modern sportfishing, with a career spanning more than 50 years. A legendary multi-species angler who still spends nearly 180 days a year on the water, Al is widely regarded as one of the world’s best all-around fishermen.

As co-host of Lindner’s Angling Edge and Fishing Edge, he remains one of North America’s most recognized and trusted angling authorities. Beyond television, Al is a driving force behind Lindner Media Productions, creating award-winning educational programs, national commercials, and cutting-edge underwater and aerial footage for the outdoor industry.

Al holds seats in multiple fishing halls of fame, including the IGFA Hall of Fame, the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame, and the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame. He has been honored for his journalism, conservation leadership, and longtime contributions to the sport.

A co-founder of In-Fisherman Magazine and the In-Fisherman Communications Network, Al helped pioneer modern angling education, tackle innovation—including the iconic Lindy Rig—and many concepts still used by anglers today. He is also a two-time Bassmaster champion and three-time Bassmaster Classic qualifier.

Of all his accomplishments, Al still prefers the title “Angling Educator,” a role he continues to embody through his lifelong commitment to teaching, mentoring youth, and shaping the sportfishing world
