Meet The Host

Jason Bowers

Jason was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. At an early age, Jason discovered a passion for hunting and the outdoor way of life. Jason has been filming outdoor television for ten years now.

He got his start on Dream Season, Working Man, and became a member of Whitetail Fix for two seasons. Jason’s love of adventure in the outdoors fuels his passion to share the journey of the real stories of hunting, whether good or bad. Among being an avid outdoorsman, Jason is also a realtor, insurance agent, an auctioneer and a volunteer firefighter.

Eric Hale

Eric has grown up as a child in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and literally lived outdoors. His family spent a lot of time chasing whitetails and wild turkeys as well as catching big rainbow trout in mountain streams and smallmouth bass in the great New River. Eric and his friend Chris Ward began filming professionally in the outdoor industry in 2003. Now, Eric Hale is ready to share his passion of hunting on a new series called Red Rising airing on Sportsman Channel. Eric continues to work as a State Parole officer and has been a Volunteer Fireman for the City of Galax, the town he lives, for 17 years. Eric lives for the outdoors and the chance to take his family on new adventures every day.

Chris Ward

Some of Chris Ward’s greatest memories as a child were hunting with his dad and grandad in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. He has always loved everything about the outdoors and hunting quickly became one of his greatest passions. Chris began filming with Eric Hale professionally with Drury Outdoors in 2003. After six years they branched out and started Legends of the Fall on the Outdoor Channel, where they remained for five years. Like the seasons, Chris and Eric felt it was time for a change and wanted to try something new, something different, which was to tell stories with our hunts and let the viewer live the hunt through us, both good and bad. Chris continues to be a Probation and Parole Officer for the state of Virginia as well as owner/auctioneer of the Dawn Auction Company.

Matt Bullins

Matt grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in northwest North Carolina, where hunting wasn’t just a hobby, but more of a way of life. His father forged his passion and love for the outdoors and whitetails at an early age. Travel with Matt Bullins as he journeys through grassroots America, seeking out new adventures and uncovering the rich bloodlines that define our hunting culture. Along the way, he highlights the people, histories, and experiences that keep these timeless traditions thriving.
